KATHMANDU: Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has handed over financial assistance of Rs 5 million to Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle to support the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of communities affected by recent floods in Rasuwa.

"This is not merely financial assistance but also a message of solidarity that we stand with the affected communities during difficult times," NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya stated.

Speaking on the occasion, the NAIMA president stated that although the assistance amount is comparatively small, its core sentiment is to express solidarity and support towards the affected communities in the hour of disaster. Mentioning that this assistance was provided specifically on behalf of Nepal's automobile importers and manufacturers, including NAIMA member companies, she expressed the commitment that NAIMA will always stand with the government and affected communities during times of crisis and disasters. The contribution was made in accordance with a prior decision by the association.

The handover programme, led by Vaidya, was attended by NAIMA board members Hemant Golchha, Managing Director of Shangrila Motors; Yamuna Shrestha, Managing Director of Cimex Inc (BYD); and Sahil Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of Cimex Inc. NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal, NAIMA Programme Coordinator Gyanu Adhikari and Utsav Karki on behalf of NAIMA's digital agency Digipal were also present.
